Overall objective:

  • to contribute to the development of an inclusive school environment in Ukraine

 

Specific objectives:

  • The capacity of school teachers and school psychologists to address bullying and violence in school against vulnerable groups is increased.
  • Students who experience bullying and violence at school receive social and psychological support via a mobile application that can be used by students to report cases of abuse and violence.

 

Outputs/Expected results:

  • Training: 25 school teachers and 25 school psychologists will be trained on how to address bullying and violence in school and the LGBT component of these issues.
  • Publication: the publication “Addressing violence in schools through education for democratic citizenship and human rights education” will be translated into Ukrainian and will be distributed to 200 Ukrainian schools.
  • A guide: a guide for teachers and school psychologists presenting a step-by-step methodology on preventive measures and on how to address acts of bullying and of violence against vulnerable young people (in particular, LGBT students) will be prepared.
  • Report: A report on education policies, teacher training and national curricula in Ukraine relating to addressing discrimination, bullying and violence in school will be prepared and submitted to IGLYO to contribute to the IGLYO European Education Index.
  • Support via Mobile application: teachers and school psychologists will be acquainted with the tool “Free2Ask mobile application” developed by the implementing institution to provide social and psychological support to students who experience bullying and violence at school.
  • Network: a network of inclusive schools will be developed and maintained.
  • Conference: the implementing institution will co-organise the 3rd International Conference of parents of LGBT children in Ukraine that will take place in Kyiv in the autumn of 2019.
