Pilots project scheme objectives

The Pilot Project scheme is a funding programme for cooperation projects involving at least two States party to the European Cultural Convention, with at least one being a member of the European Union. The scheme fosters peer-to –peer learning in the field of Education for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights Education (EDC/HRE).

Each pilot project will have as common objective the collection and sharing of information on all existing forms of EDC/HRE in operation in the particpating countries.

In addition, the Pilot Projects Scheme intends to:

  • Present pragmatic ways and best practices for addressing EDC/HRE issues;

  • Raise awareness and increase visibility of the role of EDC/HRE in democratic societies;

  • Foster cooperation between national, regional and local authorities and civil society organisations;

  • Contribute to the development of sustainable mechanisms to promote citizenship and human rights education in Europe.
