The European Union/Council of Europe Joint Programme “Democratic and Inclusive School Culture in Operation (DISCO)” has issued a call for project proposals for the cycle 2020-2021.
The aim of the call is to fund projects promoting Education for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights Education (EDC/HRE) that contribute to the fostering of inclusive and democratic societies in the States party to the European Cultural Convention.
The Call for Project Proposals 2020-2021 focuses on two thematic priorities:
Thematic Priority 1: Competences for Democratic Culture in education institutions
Participating countries are invited to submit project proposals relating to the implementation of the Model of Competences for Democratic Culture (CDC), using as key reference the “Guidance for implementation”, the volume n.3 of the Council of Europe Reference Framework of Competences for Democratic Culture (RFCDC) (www.coe.int/competences).
Thematic Priority 2: Fostering democratic and inclusive culture in education institutions, with a particular focus on creating opportunities for migrants, refugees and minorities
Participating countries are invited to submit project proposals aiming at developing mechanisms that foster inclusion and improve a sense of belonging to a community with a focus on supporting vulnerable groups in particular migrants, refugees and minorities. The aim is to provide opportunities beyond the learning environment that involve the local community by implementing the whole school/community approach.
Deadline: 15 December 2019 (at 23:00, EET, GMT +2)
