Digital Resistance : Peer day of action in Vienna

How can peer learning support the development of students’ critical skills to assess information found online? A peer learning event on recognising fake news and false information was organised in Vienna on 16 September by the University of Vienna, the Gymnasium Werndlpark and the Hernalser Gymnasium Geblergasse in co-operation with the Museum Arbeitswelt Steyr.

The peer day of action aimed at raising awareness on the topic of fake news and at disseminating the results of the project “Digital Resistance”. During the event, a quiz app on recognising fake news was tested and students presented videos, podcast episodes and comics produced during the project to younger students and their teachers.

The project “Digital Resistance” is funded by the European Union/Council of Europe Programme “Democratic and Inclusive School Culture in Operation (DISCO)” and it is currently being implemented in Austria, Germany, Greece, Italy and Romania.
