The Online Resource Centre for Child Safeguarding in Sport collects relevant practices and resources for everyone involved in protecting children from violence and abuse in sport. The practices and resources provide information to support organisations wherever they are on the safeguarding journey. This includes inspiration to get started, ideas for developing an awareness campaign or options for implementing a case management system.

The existing standards and norms to prevent sexual violence against children in sport formed the basis of analysis for the previous Online Resource Centre (ORC), established in 2017, within the EU-CoE Pro Safe Sport+ joint project. The ORC was extended within the framework of the Child Safeguarding in Sport joint project to cover all forms of abuse and violence against children. This collection of safeguarding resources builds on that activity.

In total 85 practices and resources were collected and uploaded under eight different categories:

  • Strategy and policy frameworks
  • Educational programmes and materials
  • Awareness-raising initiatives
  • Codes of conduct and codes of ethics
  • Risk minimisation measures
  • Support systems and case management
  • Studies, research and reports
  • Systems of child safeguarding officer roles

For each category there is a general guiding principle, tips for action and examples of practices and initiatives.
