Protecting privacy is key to ensuring human dignity and safety

To further strengthen the capacities of the Constitutional Court of Montenegro in application of the European human rights standards, the working meeting with the Constitutional Court´s advisers took place on 2 and 3 June 2022 to discuss concrete issues and questions that are disputable in the work of this Court.

The focus was on issues concerning the right to private life, family life, correspondence and home under Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights (Right to respect for private and family life). At the same time, the meeting had a capacity building component thus strengthening the reasoning of the Constitution Court’s decisions.

Following the working meeting, the legal brief of the issues discussed will be developed, to serve as a useful tool in the work of the Court.

The working meeting was organised within the action "Improved procedural safeguards in judicial proceedings in Montenegro", which is a part of the joint European Union and Council of Europe programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022”.
