Representatives from the Ministry of Family and Social Services, the Presidency of Migration Management, and the Ministry of National Education met in Ankara to enhance inter-agency cooperation in the delivery of protection services for refugee and migrant children.
The meeting focused on identifying where co-ordination in child-related services needs to be strengthened, and on outlining the methods institutions should adopt to ensure effective cooperation across these areas. Participants reviewed the key stages of service provision for children and discussed how clearer, more harmonised procedures can support timely and effective responses.
Discussions were described as highly constructive and beneficial, offering an opportunity for institutions involved in child protection in migration to share perspectives and deepen their understanding of one another’s roles and responsibilities. The exchange highlighted the strong commitment of all participating institutions to improving coordination and strengthening child-protection systems.
The action “Strengthening the human rights protection in the context of migration in Türkiye” is part of the European Union and Council of Europe joint programme on “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Türkiye”.
