In a meeting with Ms Evgjeni Bashari, General Inspector of the High Inspectorate for the Declaration and Audit of Assets (HIDAACI), Ms Jutta Gützkow Head of the Council of Europe Office (CoE) discussed the ongoing cooperation and the support that the CoE provides to HIDAACI through the joint EU/CoE Horizontal Facility - Action against Economic Crime in Albania. They discussed in particular the use of the electronic system of asset declarations and the preparation of draft legislation on the prevention of conflicts of interest in the exercise of public functions.

Both sides agreed to intensify cooperation in meeting the recommendations of the Group of Experts against Corruption (GRECO) in Albania.
