Community leaders in Radovish empowered to combat discrimination

Radovish became a hub of exchanging and learning as more than 30 representatives from schools, local self-governance unit and civil society organisations gathered to strengthen their knowledge and skills in prevention and protection against discrimination. The interactive workshop “Closer to the People: Protection Against Discrimination and Advancing Human Rights,” united experts, educators, and community leaders in a shared stand for equality.

The event was organised by the Commission for Prevention and Protection against Discrimination and the Ombudsperson, which are at the forefront of promoting human rights and combating discrimination in North Macedonia. Participants dived deep into practical mechanisms for detecting and addressing discrimination, equipping themselves with tools and strategies that will have lasting positive impacts on the local community. Together, the community in Radovish is taking meaningful steps towards a more inclusive and tolerant society, proving that real progress begins at the community level.

This initiative was co-organised by the Commission for Prevention and Protection against Discrimination and the Ombudsperson with the support from the Action on “Combating Hatred and Intolerance in North Macedonia”, part of the joint European Union and Council of Europe’s “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Türkiye” programme.
