The second training for Serbian judges and prosecutors on protection and safety of journalists was organised on 21-22 June 2021 in co-operation with the Judicial Academy of Republic of Serbia. It aimed at presenting relating European standards and contributing to improvement in protection of journalists and media actors.

The training raised awareness about the risks journalists are facing and possible improvement of the implementation of the legal framework of the Republic of Serbia, especially in accordance with the European Convention on Human Rights and other European standards on freedom of expression. Thе two-day training was based on the Trainer's Handbook developed and adapted to the local context of Serbia within the joint European Union/Council of Europe action “Freedom of expression and freedom of the media in Serbia” (JUFREX 2) and delivered by judges, prosecutors - JUFREX national certified trainers on freedom of expression.

The training was organised under the same action, which is a part of the joint European Union and the Council of Europe initiative “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022", which assists its beneficiaries in aligning of their practice with Council of Europe and European Union standards, within the enlargement process, where relevant.
