BEYOND BARRIERS - Conference on the role of youth work in supporting young people in vulnerable situations

The conference is related to  a project of mapping the barriers to social inclusion for young people in vulnerable situations which  intends to find out what are the issues that trigger exclusion and what is the relation and impact of barriers in different domains.

Aim (Goals):

The aim of the conference is to analyse and discuss the role of youth work in supporting young people in vulnerable situations in diverse contexts

  • to which extent youth work may support young people in vulnerable situations (existing good practice examples);
  • how can youth work be improved or further developed to serve this purpose;
  • what are the limits of youth work in supporting the young people in question.

Objectives:

  • To present the report on barriers to social inclusion for young people in vulnerable situations and collect feedback
  • To discuss common (and specific) needs of young people in vulnerable situations and good practice related to youth work in addressing them
  • To exchange ideas on ways to support young people in vulnerable situations through youth work policies in Europe and it’s neighbouring regions
  • To enhance the visibility of youth work and its role in reducing obstacles to social inclusion and to collect recommendations for youth work policy and practice in this regard.
