We would like to share two new resources produced by SALTO Cultural Diversity under the Erasmus+ Youth Chapter on the theme of young people and extremism.

The main resource pack provides theoretical and practical support to youth workers, and information and insight to policy-makers, youth and education practitioners and other organisations involved in responding to the risks from radicalisation and extremism. It highlights civic youth work, in particular, as an approach based on young people’s active citizenship, that can help in reducing risks from extremism and radicalisation.

The additional online material provides further support to the civic youth work approaches highlighted in the main resource pack. It includes exercises and tools that youth workers can use together with young people to explore a wide range of themes including identity, values, intercultural understanding and diversity, belonging and community and conflict resolution.

Both resources are available to download online here and the main resource pack is also available in hard copy.

SALTO Cultural Diversity is keen to promote the resources to youth workers, and policy makers and others with responsibility for young people’s non-formal learning to support their work in this area and to identify partners to help maximise the impact of the resources.
