Multidisciplinary teams in prison will develop individual sentence planning based on the assessment of prisoners’ risk and needs. The training curricula and a Manual on individual sentence planning were drafted in line with Council of Europe standards and good European practices by a working group. A risk and needs assessment tool, with reference to criminogenic needs and security categorisation, was also further elaborated and included in the draft Manual. Through case studies and role play scenarios on sentence planning, the working group members received knowledge and capacity to share their knowledge with peers.

The working group meeting, held in Tirana on 10-11 April 2018, was organised within the scope of the Action “Enhancing the protection of human rights of prisoners in Albania”, co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe within the ”Horizontal Facility for Western Balkans and Turkey”.
