A training on “Ethics and prevention of conflict of interests“ for prosecutors, organized within the "Action against economic crime in Montenegro", took place on 29 November 2017 in Podgorica, Montenegro.
More than 20 prosecutors from Montenegro attended the trainining, in which they had an opportunity to learn on the key principles of applied ethics through a set of interactive lectures and exercises. In addition, the participants discussed on the relevant European Court of Human Rights case law and practice. An emphasis was put on the Court cases relating to Montenegro, as well as on analysing concrete examples from Montenegro in which there were allegations of disciplinary liability and breaches of Codes of Ethic by Montenegrin prosecutors. The cases presented were used to illustrate and identify risks for breaches of ethics and integrity and to define recommendations for their mitigation in future.
This Action against economic crime in Montegro is part of the joint programme "Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey", co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe, and implemented by the Council of Europe.
