The first webinar for University lecturers and students was conducted by the senior Registry Lawyers of the European Court of Human Rights, Dr. Roberta Muscat, in co-operation with the Bilkent University in Ankara.
Participants got familiar with European standards and those set out by the European Convention on Human Rights in the field of migration through the optic of the European Court of Human Rights case-law.
Almost 60 young lawyers have attended the webinar that was moderated by Dr. A. Dicle Ergin and it touched upon topics of immigration detention, alternatives to detention and relevant European standards in this regard.
The webinar was organised within the framework of the action “Strengthening the human rights protection of migrants and victims of human trafficking in Turkey” which is a part of the joint European Union and Council of Europe programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022” (Horizontal Facility II).
