Horizontal Facility new publications

Get to know the most recent publications developed and published under the Horizontal Facility programme! They were prepared to assist beneficiaries in the Western Balkans and in Türkiye, and to provide knowledge and valuable resources regarding protection of fundamental human rights in line with the European values and the Council of Europe standards and recommendations.

Following the earthquakes in February 2023, the “Gender analysis in earthquake areas: women’s access to justice and legal aid” was developed in Türkiye in English and Turkish languages. It contains valuable inputs from local bar associations in the earthquake zone, civil society organisations, and women’s rights commission of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations.

The Feasibility Study for setting-up Shelter for Victims of Human Tra­cking in the Republic of North Macedonia was published in the framework of the anti-trafficking action and is available in English and in Macedonian languages. It is reviewing the current framework and possible alternatives from the viewpoint of consistent application and flexibility of increased influx of victims and changes in the trends and needs of victims and potential victims. While preparing this study, a special attention was paid to ensure that the recommendations are corresponding to the needs of trafficking victims in accordance with the international and domestic standards, and in a synergy with the existing network of support and services of the social protection system.

The Handbook on European Data Protection Law is now available in Serbian, thanks to the support provided to the Commissioner for Access to Information and Personal Data Protection by the action “Protecting freedom of expression and of the media in Serbia (PROFREX)”. Prepared by the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA), the Council of Europe, and the European Data Protection Supervisor, the Handbook offers key insights into the data protection standards.
