Tools and Practices about recognition of youth work/ non-formal learning
Validation system developed by the Erasmus Student Network (ESN)
Short description:
The validation activity allows the volunteers to identify, document and assess their competences, and receive the certificate that describes their learning during the validation process. As the participant of the validation activity, you will have an opportunity to think about the career you would like to have in ESN and focus on the development of the competences which will better prepare you to progress and build your career in ESN. The validation activity allows the participants to become more self-aware of the competences that they develop thanks to the volunteering activities that they do in ESN, as well as have a more structured and organised learning process that allows them to better plan and understand their growth and development. The validation activity is based on mentoring principles and each of the participants will have a mentor who will be continuously supporting them through their process. Additionally, at the end of the process, the participants will receive a certificate, a micro-credential that will be added to their Europass profile and will be offered consultations on how to translate their experience in ESN and verbalise the competences that they have developed in an interview or a motivation/cover letter for a job or another similar opportunity to support their transition from volunteering to the labour market.
