A two-day training on Roma Responsive Budgeting at local level was jointly organised in Tetovo on 12 and 13 May 2022 by the ROMACTED 2 Support Team in North Macedonia and Roma Integration Office/ Regional Cooperation Council – RCC. In addition, on 13 May the workshop on Gender Equality and Responsive Budgeting was carried out together with the UN Women Skopje.

The target group of both training sessions were the municipal contact points, representatives of the budgetary and strategic planning departments from the partner municipalities of the ROMACTED Programme .

The purpose of the first session was: “More effective budget planning at the local level with greater coverage of the local Roma community”, while the second day was dedicated to “Sensitising the local programmes for gender equality with a special focus on Roma woman”

Close to 40 representatives from the 15 partner municipalities were beneficiaries of the training sessions.

This activity falls under one of the new thematic components of Phase 2 - Roma Responsive Budgeting at local level. Partner municipalities have started with the development of the Joint Action Plans for Roma Inclusion at local level which will need to be adopted and include appropriate budgeting for the actions and activities.
