The “Roadmap for the Baltic Sea Region” provides background information and recommendations for stakeholders working in the field of sustainable tourism, cultural cooperation and social participation. It contains guidelines for national, regional and local authorities in the Baltic Sea Region on the certification and management of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe.

In order to identify macro-regional needs on sustainable cultural tourism and transnational cultural cooperation, data of all Cultural Routes crossing the Region concerning activities, members, thematic priorities and geographical coverage have been retrieved and analysed. Recommendations on the implementation of the Cultural Routes programme with regard to the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region take also into account the experts reports and the discussions held with the Routes4U stakeholders during the 2018 Routes4U meeting for the Baltic Sea Region.
