Regulatory Communications Agency (CRA), European Union and Council of Europe have organised a webinar – presentation of an expert study on “Review of the provisions of the Code on audio-visual media services regarding protection of minors“.

This study provides concrete recommendations on how to improve the protection of minors in the increasingly complex media environment, and it will significantly help in the creation of the new regulatory framework“, stated Amela Odobašić, Assistant director for broadcasting of the Communications Regulatory Agency. The study was prepared by the Council of Europe expert Jean-François Furnémont. Representatives of television and radio stations, as well as distributors of media services in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Communications Regulatory Agency and Council of Europe representatives were among the 36 participants at the webinar.

The goal of the study was to yield recommendations on how to improve the regulatory framework of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the protection of minors, with the purpose of transposition of the regulations of the new Audio-Visual Media Services Directive, within the CRA local regulations.

This webinar was organised within the joint European Union/Council of Europe programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022”, and its action on “Freedom of expression and freedom of the media in Bosnia and Herzegovina (JUFREX)”.
