IT equipment provided to Serbian institutions and civil society organisation for combating trafficking in human beings

The joint European Union/Council of Europe action “Strengthening anti-trafficking action in Serbia” donated laptops, computers, and printers to the National Anti-trafficking Co-ordination Office (Ministry of the Interior), National Rapporteur on trafficking in human beings (Ombudsperson office), Centre for Human Trafficking Victims’ Protection and NGO ASTRA anti-trafficking action to help them operate more efficiently to prevent, combat, monitor and report on trafficking in human beings, as well as provide support to victims and survivors.

At the occasion of the equipment delivery in October and November 2023, the action team  met with Nenad Simic, National Anti-trafficking Co-ordinator, Zoran Pasalic, National Rapporteur on Trafficking in Human Beings and Protector of citizens, Aleksandra Ljubojevic, Director of the Centre for Human Trafficking Victims’ Protection and Marija Andjelkovic, Director of NGO ASTRA. They discussed the current situation and challenges in fighting human trafficking in Serbia as well as opportunities for further co-operation in light of the  findings and recommendations in the third evaluation report of the Council of Europe Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA) and the latest European Commission report.

The activity was organised within the “Strengthening anti-trafficking action in Serbia”, as part of the European Union and Council of Europe joint programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Türkiye”.
