Bu tematik alan çerçevesinde yürütülecek çalışmalarda cezaevleri ve kolluk güçleri (kolluk uygulamalarında insan hakları, cezaevlerinde sağlık hizmetleri ve işkence ve kötü muameleye karşı güvenceler dahil), yargıda insan hakları standartları (Avrupa İnsan Hakları Mahkemesi içtihatlarının uygulanması), göç ile ilgili sorunlar, adalet sistemlerinin verimliliği (mahkemelerin niteliğinin en üst düzeye çıkarılması amacıyla adli istatistiklerin analizi) ve/veya hukuki iş birliği (hâkim ve savcıların bireysel bağımsızlığını ve yargı sisteminin hesap verebilirliğini artırma) konularına odaklanılacaktır.

HELP course “Child friendly justice” launched for candidate judges and prosecutors in Serbia

The Council of Europe HELP (Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals) online course on Child friendly justice was launched in-person for a more than 40 candidate judges and prosecutors in co-operation with the Judicial Academy of Serbia.

During the event organised at the Institute for Criminological and Sociological Research with the support of the joint European Union and Council of Europe ‘HELP in the Western Balkans’ action, the participants were welcomed by the Deputy Head of the Council of Europe Office in Belgrade, Nadia Cuk, who highlighted the excellent co-operation between the Judicial Academy of Serbia and the Council of Europe.

Nenad Vujic, Director of the Academy, emphasised the importance of the “HELP in the Western Balkans” action and the HELP courses that are continuously placed on the list of the Academy’s annual programme.

Jasminka Perunicic Allen, Senior Project Officer, shared an overview of the Council of Europe HELP programme and its online platform that includes a catalogue of more than 40 courses on human rights, including the specific course on ‘Child friendly justice’ contextualised for legal professionals from Serbia. Ivana Stevanovic and Milica Kolakovic Bojovic, co-tutors of the course, shared with the participants the objectives of the course and the context in which it takes place.

The course has been translated, adapted and launched in the local languages of the Western Balkans Beneficiaries with the support of the action ‘HELP in the Western Balkans action’, part of the joint European Union and Council of Europe programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022”.
