New Code of Ethics for Serbian prosecutors published

Following the adoption of the new Code of Ethics for Public Prosecutors and Deputy Public Prosecutors by the Serbian State Prosecutorial Council (SPC), the brochure for increasing awareness on rules of ethics and containing examples of permissible and impermissible conduct from practice was published.

The brochure contains the text of the new Code, the accompanying implementing guidelines and contributions from the Republic Public Prosecutor, who is also the SPC President, and from the President of the SPC Ethics Committee.

The published brochure was delivered to all holders of prosecutorial office in the country in an effort to further raise awareness of ethical rules.

The work on the Code of Ethics is part of the joint action of the European Union and the Council of Europe "Strengthening the independence and accountability of the judiciary", which is part of the “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022” programme.
