Teacher training on the development of school anti-bullying policies in Albania

A teachers training session on developing anti-bullying school policies was held for 41 teachers from the 21 Albanian pilot schools on 23 February in Tirana.

The training sessions helped the leaders of anti-bullying school teams to steer the Anti-Bullying School Policy Development Process in their schools.

Patricia Lami, anti-bullying team leader at the primary school “Fan Noli” in Tirana, highlighted the value of this training, “This was the fourth training session in a series of training sessions organised by this project. It built upon the knowledge acquired until now and was specifically useful given that it provided a hands-on practice on the development of anti-bullying school policies and was essential to the forthcoming process. What I valued most was the expertise provided by Council of Europe experts who have assisted us in each step since the beginning of the project.”

The training session was successfully guided and delivered by the Council of Europe local experts who had been trained by the Council of Europe international experts. Anti-bullying school policies and their respective action plans are expected to be finalised in each pilot school by June 2018 and will contribute to the development of a national roadmap.

This training was organised as part of the joint European Union/Council of Europe Horizontal Facility Action “Fighting bullying and extremism in the education system in Albania”.
