Date: 2021 to 2027

Summary link to Recognition

The European Training Strategy (ETS) provides a strong affirmation from the European Commission of its commitment to European youth work. The motivation behind revising the ETS was the need to provide extra support to the EU Youth Programmes, in specific areas of youth work. This particularly concerns capacity-building in youth work and the education and training of youth workers, key areas for further developments in the recognition of youth work. The ETS aims at contributing to the implementation of the European Youth Work Agenda through the Bonn process, the EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027, and the Council Conclusions on Education and Training of Youth Workers (all policies and developments that are promoting the recognition of youth work). Moreover, it intends to offer a framework that is, on the one hand, at the service of the different initiatives contributing to youth work development, and on the other hand, a space for bringing forward innovative ideas and projects.
