School principals discuss their roles as leaders of democratic schools

A workshop focused on democratic school leadership was held on the 21 February 2018, as part of the European Union/Council of Europe Horizontal Facility Action “Fostering a democratic school culture and diversity in schools” in Kosovo*. Facilitated by the two international experts Ulrike Wolff-Jontofsohn and Svetlana Jurko, it was specially designed for school principals from the 20 pilot schools involved in the project, giving them the opportunity to reflect on their own school policies and their roles as school leaders.

The participants discussed their leadership strategies and identified key areas for improvement. The school principals appreciated the opportunity to meet their peers, to exchange ideas and practices and also to become acquainted with project activities being implemented in different schools. The directors are very supportive of the project and highly appreciate the Council of Europe’s contribution in their schools.
