A new case law compendium of the Supreme Court of Albania, covering the period from 2021 to 2024, has been published with the support of the European Union and the Council of Europe.  This new edition forms part of ongoing efforts to consolidate national jurisprudence and further contribute to the harmonisation of judicial practice in Albania.

Bringing together all the unifying and amending decisions issued by the Supreme Court of Albania during this period, the publication serves as a key resource for Albanian judges, prosecutors, advocates and legal professionals. The compendium aims to support consistent interpretation and application of the law across the judiciary, thereby enhancing legal certainty and judicial efficiency and strengthening the rule of law.

The compendium includes jurisprudence from a variety of legal fields, including civil law — focusing specifically on due process and the right to property — as well as criminal and administrative law. Including such key decisions greatly strengthens the alignment of domestic legal practice with the standards of the European Convention on Human Rights and the case law of the European Court of Human Rights.

By providing accessible, high-impact case law, the publication helps strengthen the use of legal precedent and fosters professional dialogue across institutions working in the field of justice.
