Lawyers of the institution of the Ombudsman for Human Rights of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who successfully completed a training for trainers, held in turn a training on discrimination for representatives of public institutions and non-governmental organisations, in Tuzla on 6 December 2017. The aim of the session was to enable participants to recognise discrimination, act preventively and establish direct cooperation with the institution of the Ombudsman for Human Rights.
The training has been supported within the Action “Strengthening the Human Rights Ombudsman to Fight Discrimination”, implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This Action is part of the joint programme between the European Union and the Council of Europe “Horizontal Facility for Western Balkans and Turkey”. A three-year programme (May 2016 – May 2019), it focuses on three themes: ensuring justice, fighting corruption, economic crime and organised crime, as well as combating discrimination and protecting the rights of vulnerable groups.
