Launch of satisfaction surveys in Kosovo* courts

With the support of an European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ) expert, a seminar aimed at the Kosovo Judicial Council, the courts, the Ministry of Justice and the Kosovo Bar Association took place on 12 September in Pristina to promote the use and methodology to implement satisfaction surveys according to the CEPEJ “Handbook for conducting satisfaction surveys for courts users”. These surveys contribute to the evaluation and improvement of the quality of the services offered by courts.  On 13 September, the expert also met with the Court Presidents of the Basic Courts of Gjakova and Prizren to start working on the launch, for the first time in Kosovo, of CEPEJ surveys in these two pilot courts. The Handbook as well as the model questionnaires for court users and lawyers contained therein have been translated into the two local languages, Albanian and Serbian.

This activity took place under the Action "Strengthening the efficiency and quality of justice in Kosovo*" (KoSEJ), which is part of the programme entitled "Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey", co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.

*This designation is without prejudice to positions on status, and is in line with UNSCR 1244 and the ICJ opinion on the Kosovo Declaration of Independence
