Anti-bullying messages on Albanian TV

Following the Anti-Bullying Open Days organised through the joint EU/CoE action “Fighting bullying and extremism in education in Albania”  in 21 pilot schools during October in Albania, the actors of one of the most popular Albanian variety shows “Portokalli”  presented strong anti-bullying messages at the end of the show on 19 November 2017.

Some of the messages featured by the actors were:

“We may forget those who defeated us, but we can never forget those who made fun of us.”

“If you meet someone who uses a bitter language, the chances are he was abused by society in his childhood.”

“How can you stand by now, when tomorrow you may be in the shoes of those who suffer bullying?”

Furthermore, members of the parliament from all political parties have taken the initiative to bring the action against bullying forward considering that bullying and violence pose a risk to the life and well-being of the child.  “Bullying and violence destroys the life of the child. Next week, together with other MPs from all political parties we will announce our initiative to fight this phenomenon that risks the life and well-being of the child” stated member of parliament, Nora Malaj.
