Quality education in multi-ethnic societies discussed by teachers and school managers

“We have to teach how much we have in common, not what our differences are”, said one of the teachers from the pilot schools in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the focus group workshop held in Konjic on 17 - 18 November 2018.

Around 26 teachers and school directors from nine pilot schools gathered in Konjic to discuss the recommendations from the assessment study and the results from the consultations/focus groups on ethnic segregation/discrimination and its impact on quality education in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The focus group meeting was organised within the Action “Quality education in multi-ethnic societies”, part of the Horizontal Facility for Western Balkans and Turkey, co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe. The overall objective of the Action is to improve the quality of education in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the formal education system through applying anti-discriminatory approaches in line with Council of Europe standards and practices.
