Pilot school teams introduced to anti-bullying strategies

Throughout the month of September, around 340 teachers, school directors, students, parents and community representatives of 20 pilot schools from four municipalities in Kosovo* (Pristina, Mitrovica, Prizren, Peja and Gjakova) participated in trainings to combat bullying and to learn anti-bullying strategies. During the trainings, the participants discussed the concept of bullying, its definition and forms in which it can occur. Moreover, the participants were encouraged to establish mechanisms for reporting and addressing cases of bullying in schools.

The school teams are now working on the establishment of these mechanisms and will be guided by the local trainers on how to treat cases in the beginning. The activity was organised under the Action “Fostering a democratic school culture and diversity in schools” in the framework of the joint programme Horizontal Facility for Western Balkans, co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe, and implemented by the Council of Europe.
