A new cycle of the training course on international co-operation in criminal matters for Serbian prosecutors

The new cycle of the online course on the International Co-operation in Criminal Matters (ICCM) started on 4 February 2019. This time the target audience became deputy prosecutors and prosecutorial assistants from basic prosecutor's offices under the jurisdiction of the Appellate Public Prosecutor's Offices in Niš and Kragujevac.

Around 30 deputy prosecutors, prosecutorial assistants and trainees already completed this course in 2018.

The launching of the course was organised in co-operation with the Judicial Academy of the Republic of Serbia.

The participants were introduced to the Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals Programme (HELP) and the structure of the course that they will attend through the HELP e-learning platform. In the upcoming 3 months deputy prosecutors and prosecutorial assistants will advance their knowledge on fundamental principles of international judicial co-operation and a range of legal frameworks and instruments with focus on mutual legal assistance and transfer of sentenced persons.

The course is organized under the action "Supporting effective remedies and mutual legal assistance", which is being implemented in Serbia under the framework programme Horizontal Facility for Western Balkans and Turkey, co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe, and implemented by the Council of Europe.
