Back MEDIA ADVISORY: Integrity in higher education in Montenegro to be discussed at CoE-EU event

On Tuesday, 7 March 2017, a roundtable discussion on integrity in higher education in Montenegro will take place at the CentreVille hotel in Podgorica. The event will be organised under the initiative on strengthening integrity and combating corruption in higher education under the larger EU – Council of Europe programme ‘Horizontal Facility for Western Balkans and Turkey’.

At the event, a guidance document “Baseline assessment on integrity in higher education“ will be presented. It provides recommendations on developing tools to fight corruption in the higher education system in Montenegro using the approaches of the Council of Europe’s Pan-European Platform on Ethics, Transparency and Integrity in Education. Participants will discuss how main education actors can  develop ethical standards and promote best practices of quality and integrity in higher education.

The keynote speakers at the roundtable discussion will be Damir Sehovic, Minister of Education of Montenegro; H.E. Ambassador Aivo Orav, the Head of the EU Delegation to Montenegro; Radmila Vojvodic, Rector of the University of Montenegro; and Angela Longo, Head of Operations in the Council of Europe Programme Office in Podgorica. Representatives from the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science, the University of Montenegro, the Agency for Anti-Corruption, private universities, education policy and research institutes, academic community and international organisations will take part in the event.

The roundtable event will start at 9:15 am on Tuesday, 7 March 2017, at the CentreVille hotel in Podgorica. Language regime: English-Montenegrin with simultaneous interpretation. The event is fully open to the media. Press statements will be given upon request.
