A closing conference of the Action took place on 15 May in Podgorica, marking the end of the activities in the field of education in Montenegro of the Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey.

Participants were given the opportunity to hear national beneficiaries and international experts of the Council of Europe that were involved in various activities over the past three years, covering different aspects of integrity issues related to the academic world.

Throughout the Action, resources were invested in improving the quality of universities and building a better and healthier foundations for the future of academia of Montenegro, through close co-operation with relevant national institutions that showed a commitment to strengthening the integrity and combating the corruption in higher education in the country.

The event was organised within the Action “Strengthen integrity and combat corruption in higher education”, which is a part of the Horizontal Facility programme, jointly funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
