Back Disciplinary and ethical liability of judges in Montenegro

In the framework of the European Union and the Council of Europe joint programme "Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey" the Council of Europe Programme Office in Podgorica in cooperation with the Judicial Council and the Supreme Court of Montenegro organises the round table "Disciplinary and ethical liability of judges in Montenegro" which will take place on 13 June 2018 in hotel "Ramada" in Podgorica.

The goal of the round table is to summarise the results achieved so far in the implementation of the system of disciplinary and ethical liability of judges in Montenegro and to present the challenges among the Council of Europe member states in this area.

The event will be opened by the introductory addresses of Ms Vesna Medenica, President of the Supreme Court of Montenegro, Mr Mladen Vukcevic, President of the Judicial Council, Ms Marijana Lakovic-Draskovic, Director General of the Directorate for Organisation of Judiciary in the Ministry of Justice, Mr Hermann Spitz, Head of Cooperation Section in the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro and Ms Sophio Gelashvili, Head of the Justice Sector Reform Unit, Council of Europe.

The round table will bring together the presidents of the courts in Montenegro, members and representatives of the Judicial Council, representatives of the Ministry of Justice, representatives of the Center for Training in Judiciary and State Prosecution, representatives of State Prosecution Service and the Bar Association, representatives of international, civil society organisations and representatives of the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro and the Council of Europe.

The round table is open to media and will start at 10:30 on Wednesday, 13 June 2018 in hotel Ramada – meeting room Lesendro.

Language regime: English-Montenegrin with simultaneous interpretation.
