Albanian institutions commit to bring forward protection of freedom of expression and the media, in line with European standards

The second Steering Committee meeting of the EU and Council of Europe action on  "Protecting Freedom of Expression and of the Media in Albania" (PRO-FREX-A), was held in Tirana to discuss with key stakeholders the current progress, and set main objectives for the upcoming year.

The PRO-FREX-A action will maintain and strengthen its partnership with the School of Magistrates, the Bar Association, State Police Directorate, and Audio-Visual Media Authority to assist them in the implementation of their institutional agendas and improve the environment of freedom of expression and the media, in line with European standards.

This activity was organised within the action on “Protecting freedom of expression and of the media in Albania”, implemented by the Council of Europe Division for Co-operation on Freedom of Expression , part of the joint European Union and the Council of Europe programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Türkiye
