The Third Steering Committee meeting of the action on “Promotion of diversity and equality in Serbia” took place in Belgrade, on 5 March 2020 at the Palace of Serbia.

This was the first Steering Committee after the inception period and a great opportunity to discuss concrete activities with beneficiaries. Each beneficiary institution presented the activities that have been agreed upon as a priority for 2020, as well as the timeline for their implementation according to the revised the workplan. Three priorities of the action in the second phase remain: protection of national minorities; anti-discrimination with focus on LGBTI and other vulnerable groups; and combating hate speech and hate crime.

The European Union and the Council of Europe, through the joint programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022”, will continue to support beneficiaries in the realisation of the activities both at national and regional component level.
