Albanian High Court lawyers trained on the documentation practices of the European Court of Human Rights

Two representatives from the Documentation Centre of the Supreme Court of Albania got acquainted with some of the latest practices of dissemination of decisions and publications of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR). A 2-day program which took place on September 29 and 30 2022 had as its main objective the acquisition of direct experience from the ECtHR on the harmonization and systematization of judicial practice and included a training on the functioning of the case-law database system of the court (HUDOC), several dedicated presentations on writing of decisions, analysis and transparency of jurisprudence, access and digital transformations in the justice system of different member states of the Council of Europe.

This activity was organized by the European Union and Council of Europe Action which supports the enforcement of court decisions and the facilitation of the execution of ECtHR judgements in Albania (DREX-II), within the programme "Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey II". Among others, the action also supports the Supreme Court of Albania to have a more coherent and harmonized practice with the standards of the European Court of Human Rights as an essential prerequisite to guarantee legal certainty and the protection of human rights.
