Stakeholders meet to sign off comprehensive training activities

A meeting on the Action ''Enhancing human rights for detained and sentenced persons",  was held on 19 September in Sarajevo.

The three Assistant Ministers of Justice and the Assistant Ombudsman for rights of detainees and sentenced persons discussed the Action's past achivements and signed off on planned activities. Particular emphasis was placed on the raised visibility of the Action, which coincides with the start of a training cycle of the Action's three key components: enhancement of human rights protection mechanisms for persons deprived of liberty on apprehension, development of meaningful offender management programmes and improvement of protocols for healthcare delivery in closed environements.

The Action's steering committee particularly welcomed the Action's outreach to the law enforcement agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, thereby emphasizing the need to dissiminate and apply the same set of human rights standards in the work of any law enforcement officer in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
