A thematic discussion on "Upholding Journalistic Integrity: Safeguarding Journalists and Media Actors in North Macedonia," will be organised on 17 April 2024 in Hotel Aleksandar Palace, in the framework of the European Union and the Council of Europe joint action “Protecting freedom of expression and of the media in North Macedonia” PRO-FREX.
The event will bring together key stakeholders from the media industry, representatives from relevant public institutions, civil society organisations, and international partners to engage in a constructive dialogue and explore solutions to address increasing ‘Strategic Lawsuits against Public Participation’ (SLAPPs) in North Macedonia.
The thematic discussion will be opened by:
- Oleg Soldatov, Head of Council of Europe Programme Office in Skopje
- Alina Tatarenko, Head of Division on Co-operation and Capacity Building on Freedom of Expression
- Dragan Sekulovski, Executive Director of the Association of Journalists of Macedonia
