Back International conference "Constitutional and International aspects of the upholding of the rule of law"

International conference

On 22 April 2022, an international conference focusing on the constitutional and international aspects of the upholding of the rule of law will be held in Almaty on the occasion of the 10-th anniversary of Kazakhstan joining the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe and the 30-th anniversary of the country's membership in the United Nations.

Participants will look at the results and achievements of Kazakhstan's fruitful co-operation with the Venice Commission and the United Nations in promotion of the rule of law as well as in prospects for further partnership in this field.

This conference is organised by the Constitutional Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Human Rights Commission under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation, the Sorbonne Institute-Kazakhstan, and the UN Office in Kazakhstan. It will be attended by high level representatives of state bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, officials of the international organisations, as well as prominent legal scholars.

This activity is organised by the action "Promoting efficient functioning of state institutions and public administration" implemented by the Venice Commission in the framework of the Central Asia Rule of Law Programme which is a joint EU-Council of Europe initiative co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
