Young refugees’ participation is crucial for an inclusive and healthy democracy. Yet, in the process of political engagement, young refugees encounter significant barriers due to multiple social structures and political forces, which treat refugees as the “other”. According to a recent report, there are 22 million migrants, refugees, asylum seekers, undocumented or exiled people currently living in the European Union who experience different barriers to political participation.
