On 28 November 2016, following the Council of Europe expert’s field mission to Moldova during October 17-18 (on existing regulatory legal framework with regard to Council of Europe Recommendation on protecting and promoting the right to freedom of expression and the right to private life and EU Regulation 2015/2120 of 25 November 2015 on Open and neutral Internet), the roundtable presented the findings and recommendations to Moldovan authorities, civil society and ICT companies interviewed in the field of network neutrality, safety of Internet and human rights.
The Report addresses the current legal gaps of the Republic of Moldova in protection of human rights online, Telekom regulation and recommends which legal provisions shall to be harmonized with Council of Europe and European Union standards and legal practices.
The event has been organised within the framework of the joint European Union and Council of Europe Joint PCF Project “Strengthening the respect for human rights in the implementation of the Digital Agenda of Moldova”.
