Methodological training of trainers for the Academy of Justice of Azerbaijan

On 26-27 October 2017, the Council of Europe organized a two-day methodological training of trainers (refresher course) for the certified trainers of the Academy of Justice of Azerbaijan.

The aim of the refresher training course was to introduce participants to various adult training methodologies by advancing the capacity and skills of the trainers to deliver effective human rights training for legal professionals.

Two international experts led the training session that mainly focused on adult training methodologies, effective presentation and facilitation techniques, effective group interaction tools and communication skills, adapting training to the needs of audience. During the training course the certified trainers shared their experience, difficulties and successes when delivering training for various legal professionals accumulated during the seminars organised by the project since 2015 and learned more about training cycle management, group dynamics, ways of motivating the participants and using interactive techniques for various target audiences.

The activity was organised in the framework of the Project on “Application of the European Convention on Human Rights and the case-law of the European Court of Human Rights in Azerbaijan” that is part of the Partnership for Good Governance for Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and Belarus and is funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe.
