During 6-7 June 2017, a delegation of senior representatives of the Moldovan Council for Prevention and Elimination of Discrimination and Ensuring Equality, and the Ombudsperson Office of the Republic of Moldova paid a 2-day study visit to Defensor del Pueblo in Spain.
The visit aimed at better acquainting the Moldovan delegation with the best European non-discrimination practices. The main topics of discussions were: practices on inspections and procedures; implementation and promotion of the principle of equality; execution of decisions; types of internal regulations; execution of the strategic litigation as well as the process of handling complaints in various areas of public policies and administration. As a result of exchanges of experience during the visit, the participants will be able to further improve their everyday work in many non-discrimination related areas.
The event was organised under the European Union/Council of Europe Programmatic Cooperation Framework for Eastern Partnership countries’ project on supporting national efforts for prevention and combating discrimination in Moldova.
