Project of the  “General Secondary School Centre Foča”:
From inclusive classroom to inclusive Europe

Specific project’s objectives:
  • To raise awareness about inclusion through education of pupils, teachers and parents;
  • To improve inclusive practice in school, implementation of quality inclusive approach to education, and the sensitization of wider community on the need to support this form of education;
  • To create pleasant,  adequate environment for various activities, for all the pupils;
  • To create an inclusive school model as an example of good practice through increasing number of educational and extracurricular cultural activities and events that involves all the children, regardless of their abilities, with the purpose to promote inclusive education.
Project’s main activities:
Public awareness
  • Media coverage of the project:
    • - At the beginning of the project, the public will be informed that inclusive-pilot school has started to implement project From an inclusive classroom to inclusive Europe. Local Radio Station and correspondent from TV station RTRS will cover all public activities within the project:
      - events,
      - theatrical performances,
      - exhibitions.
    • - Lectures on inclusion
      About 150 participants, teachers, pupils and parents will attend these lectures.
Survey 'How much do I know about inclusion?
  • Survey will be conducted amongst 80 pupils in total, 20 pupils per class of I, II, III и IV grade
Adaption of multi-functional classroom
  • Already existing, but inadequate school space will be adapted for various project activities, workshops, class meetings with project participants:
    • - pupils with disabilities,
    • - marginalized pupils,
    • - protégées of NGO 'Ray of Hope', an organization that deals with children with developmental disabilities from Foča,
    • - and other pupils from the school as well as teachers.
  • For the adaption following equipment will be provided:
    • - digital camera,
    • - laptop,
    • - chairs,
    • - desks for pupils,
    • - video beam with projector,
    • - magnetic board,
    • - equipment needed for painting workshops - easel, paper, canvas, colours.
Creative and educational workshops for pupils
  • These workshops should include on creative and educational way all the pupils
  • Public performance will include:
    • - pupils with special needs,
    • - pupils with developmental disabilities,
    • - marginalized and asocial pupils,
    • - as well as all other pupils – 30 pupils in total;
  • Public theatre will include 15 participants, mainly with:
    • - pupils with special needs, with developmental disabilities,
    • the marginalized and asocial pupils,
    • - all other pupils
Project’s target groups
  • Direct beneficiaries:  1st  and 2nd  grade pupils with developmental disabilities, marginalized  and other pupils (at least 80), pupils included in art and theatre sections, at least 40 teachers and 30 parents
  • Indirect beneficiaries: all other school pupils, school staff, parents, members of NGO 'Ray of Hope', primary school pupils, wider local community (city government and citizens)
