A one-day training on Freedom of Expression and Privacy for journalists from the region was organised on 29 June 2016 in Mingachevir, Azerbaijan, within the framework of the joint EU/COE Project “Freedom of expression and media freedom” . The main aim of the training was to raise awareness on the European standards on freedom of expression and privacy and to give the floor to open discussions. Local experts made presentations on Council of Europe and European Convention on Human Rights standards on freedom of expression and privacy as well as on freedom of expression and privacy in Azerbaijani legislation. About 30 journalists from Mingachevir and nearby regions participated in the training and took an active part in discussions.
