Following a request from the Central Election Commission of Georgia, the Venice Commission is assisting the electoral authority of the country by providing an election expert  on legal matters in view of the forthcoming parliamentary elections scheduled to take place on 8 October 2016.

This activity falls in the framework of the Programmatic Cooperation Framework (PCF) for Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and Belarus, funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
