Back Training on human rights protection at pre-trial stage for prosecutors

On 18-19 April 2018 the European Union and the Council of Europe, in co-operation with the Chief Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia, organized a training on human rights protection at pre-trial stage for prosecutors and investigators.

The purpose of the training was to raise awareness on European standards of human rights protection at pre-trial stage for prosecutors and investigators. The two-day seminar focused on such topics as deprivation of liberty, search and seizure, conducting secret investigations and video/audio surveillance. 27 representatives of the Chief Prosecutor’s Office attended the training. The seminar was interactive and loaded with practical examples.

As a result of the training, participants got acquainted with European standards in regards to coercive measures.

The event was organised in the framework of the European Union – Council of Europe joint project “Strengthening the Application of the European Convention on Human Rights in Georgia”, within the EU-CoE Partnership for Good Governance.
